Getting back into this and Valentines Day

I fail at blogging. But, I really do want to get into this. I don't know why, or how. I read random peoples blogs all the time (creeper much?) and I love seeing the things they write about. Some have from before they are married, kids, etc. and it's just so cool! I guess, my first post back, will be this 'blog hop' thing about Valentines Day. I have a Valentine, still :) He's still my best friend and the love of my life. So...why not do it?! Here we gooooo...

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
3 years, almost 8 months :)

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
We 'met' at church in January of 2008, but never talked. We were in the youth group together, went to all the activities and stuff, but never talked. I thought he was kind of attractive, but kept it to myself. In June of 2008, the day after I graduated High School, our youth group went to California for a Youth Conference. I was 'reintroduced' to everyone and slowly started talking to everyone. By the end of the trip, Luke and I slowly began to have a very small interest in each other. The day after we got back, the youth group went to a park, and afterwards, Dairy Queen. We exchanged numbers that night, and the rest is history :)

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
We are not married, but he IS the guy I hope to marry :) He's my best friend, and I do think this is the guy that God wants me to marry!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
I want to get married here in WA, but not sure as to if it will be our church or my Mom's church. Our church is smaller, and we have LOTS of family and friends, so I think we will need a bigger church. It will be a fairly big wedding (200-250ish...although, my parents was 800, so I don't think 200 is a lot lol)

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Baby, babe, honey, sweetie, sweetheart, love, hon. Basic stuff :)

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
His love for God, his smile, and his honesty

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
I don't care how he proposes, or how our wedding is... I just want to marry him :)

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Some kind of stuffed animal and chocolate :) and sometimes a necklace or earrings

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Both. I love romantic dinners, but I also love making dinner for our families and then watching a movie with them

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I want to go to Maine and Florida with him. Why? I don't know...but I do

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
He's in CA, I'm in WA...so, I have a dentist appointment. He has classes and then is working all day. So nothing really. I sent him two cards (a funny one and a sweet one), and I have no clue what he's sending me.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I want him home, but that's not happening, so no :)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
The ONLY two things that has worked for us is keeping God in the center of our relationship and trusting each other. Roughly 2 1/2 years of our 3 1/2 year relationship has been long distance. That takes a LOT of trust. God brought us together for a reason, and we trust that He will get us through this. So far, it's worked :) But for ANY couple, religious or not, trust is the #1 thing. It HAS to be there. If you can't trust him/her now, there is no way you'll be able to trust them when you're
married.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.
This is us at the Spring Banquet at our school in 2009. This is true love for me. The smile on his face, the twinkle in his eye (and the fact that he's actually smiling in a picture because he hates his picture being taken!). He's my best friend :)

Ooops

So I said I was going to keep up with this thing...and I haven't!

Well...update since I last posted.

I started working at my old job again, this time in the Seafood department. I love it! My co workers back there are super fun to work with, and I like the customers. It's really fun. Smelly, but fun haha

I celebrated my 21st birthday! and was in my friend's wedding on the same day. It was a good day=) Luke took me to Maggiano's and the Melting Pot for dinner/dessert the next weekend.

My little brother turned 19 and graduated high school. Makes me feel SO old, but I'm so proud of him.

My little sister is now a sophomore in high school. Once again, makes me feel old!

Luke came home from college for the summer, turned 19, and today we are celebrating our 2 yr. anniversary of dating! We went to Seattle on Saturday and went to Rock Salt for dinner. It was delicious!

My parents celebrated their 22nd anniversary, Mom went to Chicago, ran (and completed!) her first 1/2 marathon, and Dad is preparing for a triathlon. So proud of them!

Umm...yeah thats pretty much it! Not much going on. Just working a TON! I'll try to keep this thing updated. Maybe some funny stories from work or something..hmm..

Workin!

Yeppp. I finally have another temp. job. I'm working a late shift tonight. So happy! BIG Blessing, because I've been nervous about not being able to find a job. Maybe I might have an opportunity to be hired? That would be pretty awesome...I need a full time job!

I really want to go back to school in September, but right now I just don't know. I need money, but with this babysitting job I'm only making enough to pay my cell/insurance bills. Plus starting in May I have to start paying for my own health insurance. Soooo... we'll see! God is in total control, and He will do what He wants done!

This is a quick post... I have to get dressed and ready to go take a drug test for this job. Yayyyy... SO excited about this. NOT! lol

Hmmm

Sooo...what's been going on in my life since my last post.

Well...Luke came home to visit last weekend. It was an awesome time! His whole entire family came over. His brother and sister in law who live in Arizona flew up, and his Aunt and Uncle and two cousins came too. I think all in all there were 28 family members (that included 2 girlfriends and an 'adopted' son) that were at the party. It was a really fast weekend, but worth it since I got to see him! Only two more months left until he comes home! =)

Work has been boring lately. Short days or no days at all. But, it pays. Sooo I guess I'm happy with that. I'm still looking for another part time job though. I need a job that pays money so i can pay my schoool bill and get back to California in September! I need to go back to school!

In other words, I turn 21 in 62 days. Super excited about that =) My birthday is on my friend's wedding day, and I'm in her wedding, so I won't be doing anything on my birthday. But, Luke is taking me out to the Space Needle the next day! We're going to go and hang out in Seattle all day. I'm very, very excited about this!

We've been getting our house all organized. I helped my Mom clean her room and her 'sewing/craft/geneology' room today. Very sore, but accomplished a lot! I need to clean up the living room again though. I didn't realize there was so much stuff! We took two trips to Goodwill too. Ughhhh!

Annnnnyways. I think I'm done with this post now. I'm going out to dinner with some friends, then coming home and watching a movie! Sooo night everyone!

Loving life!

I started my new job yesterday. I LOVE it! Being a nanny is awesome. I love kids, so doing it everyday is awesome. Plus, this baby is the cutest kid ever! He's so easy too. He fell asleep after I fed him a bottle and was out for like 45 minutes. The parents are super easy going and nice too, so when I got there the Mom was like "Oh, you can eat whatever, drink whatever, watch tv, just as long as the baby is taken care of!" and he was. I didn't eat anything, but I watched TV while he was asleep.

Anyways...I work Monday through Wednesday, and the hours are random I could get up to 5 hours a day, and sometimes might only work for an hour. But its nice cause I get paid for the day instead of hourly, so I'm making the same amount every day. I shouldn't be working more then 4 hours a day though, if even. So its pretty easy and cool with me! I'm still looking for a second job...maybe Thursday-Saturday if possible.

I'm off to get ready. Just wanted to give a quick update on how I'm doing! Luke comes home in 10 days for a visit. I'm SO excited!

Happy Birthday, little sister

It's my little sister's 16th birthday today. I can't believe how much she's grown and who she's become. She's such a beautiful, smart, funny, loving girl. I am SO proud of her! I just feel so old haha I'm only 20, but having an 18 yr old brother and 16 yr old sister just makes you feel OLD! Ugh! Oh well... I love it! I love my siblings. I love who they've become.

Anyways...her party is on Saturday. We're going to have an awesome time. We're going to go ice skating and having a bunch of people over for a party. I hope it turns out well. Not like my parties in high school- those were pretty much an epic fail haha I love parties though. She wanted me to plan everything because she hates planning, so I have been, and I'm excited about it! We got an icecream cake and we're getting pizza and stuff. Fun fun!

Okay. I have a busy day ahead of me. I need to take a shower and clean up the house a bit becasue my grandparents are coming over. This was a pretty random post, but oh well. Point is, I love you Jenna, Happy Birthday!

Love always,
Stephanie (aka Big Sister)

Day two of my blogging life.

Today was pretty fun, but also boring. I'm still trying to recover from this sore throat I've had. I stayed up until almost 3am just thinking and reading and listening to music. It was nice, and I slept in this morning. Then I just hung around the house watching TV, cleaning, reading more and playing on my computer.

Around 2:00, my brother texted my youth leader asking if we could still go to the hockey game with the youth group. He said sure if we could be there by 4. Mom and Dad got home and said we could go if the house was clean. We finshed up a few small things and were on our way! It was SO much fun. From when we first got there to when we pulled out of the church on our way home. I have so many good memories. I HATE sports, but I get SO into it if I'm actually at a live game. The fights were hilarious! Plus we got hot dogs and icecream for only $1 each, so I got a hotdog and 2 icecreams haha it was awesome.

After the game I came home, got in my pjs, and sat in front of the fire watching The Bachelor. So not happy he didn't let Aly come back, and even more upset that Vienna is still there. I don't like that girl! Oh well...now thats over, so I'm just going to finish this blog post and maybe read a book or go to bed. I'll decide later =)

I like this blogging idea. Even if no one reads it, its still a way for me to get my thoughts out and also put memories from activities and stuff. I like it!

Mmmk...night!
